How to Setup Email on iOS Devices?
What is iOS
iOS is Apple's mobile operating system used to run the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and iPad Mini devices, etc.
Requirements:
Before users can setup their email account on their iOS Device users must set up their Smartermail email account. For more information about how to create and migrate a Smartermail email account, please see the following links:

Steps to setting up an Email Account on iOS Devices:
- Select Settings
- Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Select Add Mail Account
- Select Other
- The New Account Information Window will appear, where:
- Name: Type the name of your Account
- Email: Type your Email that you use to login to Smartermail
- Password: Type your password that you use to login to Smartermail
- Then select Next.
- In the next window you have to configure an INCOMING MAIL SERVER
- Select IMAP because you are checking email on a mobile device in addition to a desktop. We strongly suggest using IMAP over POP. For more information about the difference between IMAP and POP please look at What is the difference between POP vs IMAP port?
- Host Name: Please type mail.pencilneck.ca
- User Name: Type your email address that you used to login to Smartermail. For example: name@yourdomain.com
- Password: Type your password that you use to login to Smartermail
- Finally select Next.
- In the next window you have to configure an OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
- Host Name: Please type mail.pencilneck.ca
- User Name: Type your email address that you used to login to Smartermail. For example: name@yourdomain.com
- Password: Type your password that you use to login to Smartermail
- Then select Next.
- A Cannot Verify Server Identity pop-up window will appear, select Continue
- Finally you have successfully set up your Email on an iOS Device
If you want to store: sent, drafts, and trash email folders on the server follow the next steps:
- Select Settings and then select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Choose your email account
- Select Advanced
- Under MAILBOX BEHAVIORS choose the mailbox you wish to configure
- Select the folder on the server you wish to save the email in.
- Repeat the above steps for any other folders you wish to store ON THE SERVER
Note:
If for any reason you can not send, or receive emails successfully make sure that:
- User, Server, and Login information has been entered correctly
- You have created your email account in Smartermail before you set up your iOS Device account
- The DNS has been successfully changed
